2004 Ultimate Adventure - Apple Valley

Apple Valley Farms, which is located about an hour and a half from Minneapolis, is roughly 1,800 acres of private land that has various trails, but it is only opened for special groups, and a few events put on by the Real Performance Machines (RPM) 4x4 club. We spent our day on the Red trail hitting obstacle with names like Ed Style, Pitch Fork, Chunked, Snake Pit, Log Challenge, Cheese Balls, Mickey Mouse, No Name, and The Edge. The majority of these were steep loose dirt climbs, and though there were easier by-passes, none were really easy. It was amazing how most of our hosts were driving small nimble Suzukis and Geos and the obstacles that they made look easy our fullsize rigs and Jeeps had to use very different lines and gobs more throttle. The terra wasn't very firma, and like Farmer Ed in his field our group would often leave them tilled and plowed as we spun our way up every climb.
