When our art director, Alan Huber, came across Julie Richmond's screaming yellow K5 at the local grocery store, he knew it would look great on the cover. It's Julie's daily driver and absolutely flawless, but Huber was still able to convince her to take it over the rocks and through the mud for our cameras.
Julie has had just about everything repainted, rebuilt, or rechromed on her '70 Blazer to look and function better than new. The truck is relatively stock compared to a lot of trucks we feature, but anything that's topless and wearing Corvette Yellow will always catch our attention.
The interior looks like a 100-point restoration to us. Except for the aftermarket steering wheel and the Corvette Yellow dash, it is still much as it left the factory in 1970. Julie goes topless wheeling in comfort and vintage Chevrolet style that no modern SUV could match. |

In 1994 Julie Richmond repowered her first-generation Blazer with a Goodwrench 350 crate engine nestled in the super-clean engine compartment. Can you say "easy tune-up"? To keep with the stock '70s theme, Julie had a set of Hooker Headers installed to complement the factory Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor and points ignition.
