14. The final piece of the rollbar is door bars. These not only protect from side impacts involving low-flying aircraft, but they add vertical stability to the main hoop. A bar that goes straight down from the main hoop to the front floor would be stronger, but wouldn't clear the seat and door panel. The tubing is all 13/4-inch-diameter mild steel with 0.134-inch tube wall. View Related Article
