Luckily for Jeff, he was working at a bodyshop during his truck's transformation from an F-150 to the Briarwood Ford never made. He used a front clip from a Lincoln Navigator and then sprayed the truck in dark toreador-red pearl metallic. That's a pretty big color classification, Jeff!
Ever seen one of these before? Ford made about two million of them before deciding that they needed to be 2WD and scrapping them all for the Briarwood. Luckily Jeff Locke of Orangevale, California, was able to steal one and file the numbers off of it before Ford could catch him.
Nah, we're just kiddin'. Ford never offered the Briarwood in a 4WD model, and that could be why the Briarwood is going the way of the dodo (and the Excursion) this year. But Jeff didn't want to accept that, so he made his own: the Navahauler.
 After spending time making...  After spending time making the truck so nice, Jeff was not about to skimp on the wheels and tires. Mickey Thompson Baja Belted tires sized 35x14.50 were shoved onto 16x10 Weld Typhoon rims to give the finishing touch to a daily-driven truck that is clean enough to be a show rig. |  A 4-inch Trail Master kit...  A 4-inch Trail Master kit was bolted on to help give the vehicle a little height. Jeff's demands called for a light-duty wheeler, so the Trail Master kit was the perfect choice to get a little more aggressive tire on and a little extra height for obstacle clearance. Not wanting to ride around without some bitchin' sounds, Jeff had a fiberglass-molded box custom-built behind the leather seats. A Panasonic head unit controls the sound, and a full tint job makes sure that the system is concealed from would-be thieves. |
