Getting Caught In The Pickle

Moab Easter Jeep Safari Hard Core Moab Rock Crawling

The Moab Easter Jeep Safari has become the annual gathering of who's who in the off-road industry. The tradeshow packs the house with manufacturers, vendors, and thousands of event attendees. You've got a better chance of winning the lottery than finding a hotel room on Friday night. While more than a thousand rigs headed out to 27 organized trail rides last year, renegades from the Wild Bunch set out in search of a new and lesser-known hard-core route-The Pickle. With such colorfully named obstacles as Mashed Potato, Meat Grinder, and Just Say No to Crack, this trail serves it up hot with a Moab-style recipe for heartburn and headache.

The location of The Pickle is a highly coveted secret in Moab. We can't tell you, but finding some locals who have the info is the best way to go, as you shouldn't be out there alone. But if the thought of painting the terrain with your rollcage and general drivetrain carnage gets you excited, if the sound of shredding sheetmetal and your frame twisted to the point of no return gives you a warm fuzzy feeling, The Pickle might be for you. Otherwise, we suggest you take two Tums and have your mashed potatoes from the comfort of your garage as you flip through these pages.
