Labor Day Mudstock - Hoosier Daddy?
Mudstock Madness In Indiana
Photography by Wendy Frazier
In a land rich with motor speedway heritage, dirt, and Labor Day partying, Indiana's flatlands lead to only one thing-motors and mud. That's right, ladies and gentleman, start your engines. That rumble isn't last night's fajitas barking at the back door, it's massive big-block muscle. And as always, anytime there's muscle and mud there is mayhem. This time it happened to be at the Labor Day Mudstock event held in Hillsdale, Indiana, just outside of Terra Haute.
The main event enthralled the spectators as racers slogged their way through 20,000 gallons of mud-sludge. The quicksandlike mud bogs sucked in some of the biggest 4x4 rubber this side of the Mississippi. Add a live sound stage and a multitude of trails on 82 acres of private land and you're asking for one heck of a good time. If you missed this year's madness, next year's event information can be found at 866/EVENT-INFO or at www.sportsintherough.com.
