On a hot dry weekend last September, a new era in rockcrawling competition dawned. The town of St. George, Utah, was the site of the 2003 Supercrawl, which not only brought out 10,000 spectators to watch 100 teams compete for over $60,000 in cash and prizes in the final event of the 2003 United Rockcrawling & Off-Road Challenge (UROC) season, but also revealed the merger of UROC with the Rock Crawlers Association of America (RCAA) for the 2004 season.
We were there not only to cover this epic event, but also to hand over the keys of the coveted BFGoodrich, 4-Wheel & Off-Road, and Dynatrac Karnivore rockbuggy to one lucky winner. With over 35 vendors displaying their rockcrawling products, and teams of drivers and spotters traveling from across the country to compete, this is the one competition you don't want to miss if rockcrawling is your game.
We are sure there will be a Supercrawl this year as well, and are excited to see how the merger of the two largest organizers of rockcrawling competitions will affect the future of the sport. Check the UROC Web site (www.uroc.com) or call 801/932-0322 to find the 2004 schedule.
