Do you remember that feeling when you had to go back to school after playing all summer long? Well, we're back in the office after a week in southeast Utah and the Moab Melancholy is setting in. Every year we tell you about our pilgrimage to Moab for the Easter Jeep Safari (EJS), and every year more and more of you show up to find out what's so amazing about this little happening. If you like wheeling your 4x4, and you can plan just one major off-road trip a year, this should be it. We know many of you won't make the EJS an annual event, but put it on that list of things to do some day, because there is nothing like hanging out in this charming town with amazing red-rock hills all around, with 4x4s of every shape and size wherever you look. It's an off-road Mecca that we look forward to visiting and dread leaving each year.
This year was the 39th annual Easter Jeep Safari put on by the Red Rock 4-Wheelers and we can only imagine how big it will be for the 40th year next spring. The Red Rock 4-Wheelers have organized trail runs going all week long on more than 20 different trails, so if you've never been to EJS, this is a great way to begin your adventure. This small town hosts a huge trade show where the 4x4 industry shows up to exhibit its wares and there are tons of hotels and camping facilities. If you're worried about trail carnage so far from home, there are more than a handful of off-road shops and parts stores open for long hours during the EJS week to get you back up and wheeling.
If you bring that special someone with you-and they happen to get bored with wheeling for seven days straight-there are plenty of shopping boutiques, mountain bike and hiking trails, river rafting trips, restaurants, bars, and even a few day spas for them to explore while you're out exploring the red rock trails. So now is your chance to start wrenching on your 4x4, saving up your nickels and dimes, and begging for the week off prior to the Easter holiday, then load up your family and 4x4 so that we can be taking your picture next year at Moab. Carnage Of MoabAnything is possible in Moab, it will sleet one second and be sunny and warm the next, and the same goes for vehicles and carnage. We saw so much carnage that this page is just a small sampling of what went down, and over, and down.
