Even the engineers at Edelbrock...
Even the engineers at Edelbrock found time to cruise the notches of Ocotillo Wells and test out a few of their new top-secret products. It's always nice to see that real-world R&D testing is still part of a big company's agenda.
Pack your bags, air down your tires, and get ready for three days of epic desert wheeling under the warm blue Southern California sky. Whether you're hot for climbing rocks, hucking sand, or powering up hillclimbs, the Desert Safari put on by the Tierra Del Sol 4x club will get you in the mix and have you smiling through the fresh grit in your teeth. With the event held annually and going on its 46th year, the members of TDS work hard every year to bring together thousands of outdoor enthusiast, dedicated wheelers, and off-road vendors, all for the sake of preserving the very hobby that we all love so much. While in the past Truckhaven has been the hosting grounds for the event, this year takes us a little down the road to the Ocotillo Wells SRVA.
Though the SRVA is open to all vehicle types and experience levels, you will need to register with TDS to participate in one of the official trail rides as well as put your name in the raffle in hopes of winning thousands of dollars' worth of goodies for you and your rig. With more than a thousand good-hearted American wheelers at the event this year, it was a great place to mingle with fellow 4xers and catch a glimpse of hundreds of awesome rigs working it out on the trail. If you want to be part of next year's fun, check them out on the Web at www.tds4x4.com and get ready for a three-day weekend to remember!

Not just for Jeeps, the Desert...

Not just for Jeeps, the Desert Safari is a Mecca for all things 4x. Seeing this Mercedes Unimog in action really got us thinking about an African Ultimate Adventure. We're sure they've got a flatfender or two lying around for the boss.

With soft sand, big rocks,...

With soft sand, big rocks, and mammoth hillclimbs making up the 80,000 acres of Ocotillo Wells SRVA in Southern California, there is something for every rig. Nick Bennett even brought out his '78 Ramcharger, setting a trend we'd like to see more of-fullsize wheelers.

Thinking about upgrading axles...

Thinking about upgrading axles or want to check out that new suspension before you shell out the dough? Well, here's your chance to talk to the madmen behind the very products that make our rigs great. Lined with product displays and demonstration models, vendor row is an interactive 4x mart.
