The Overland Expo is a three-day event that brings together manufacturers of all types of camping, 4x4, and travel equipment, as well as veteran world travelers and newbies alike. There are classes and seminars on everything from "how I rode my motorcycle around the world on a budget" to "how to get my Land Rover unstuck from a mud bog in the Amazon." In addition to the training seminars there were many lectures, slide shows, and movies to attend, where folks who had gone out and circled the globe, crossed the deserts, or just explored their home state would tell their stories. It seems that the costume of choice for overland travelers is a khaki adventure shirt with cargo pants or shorts and a big floppy hat.
