Last year at Moab, we spotted Zach Steele's tube-chassis K5 Blazer on the Escalator. Now most people take the V-wedge line straight up, but Zach caught our attention when he suddenly cranked right and went straight up the side. Not even we are crazy enough to try that one. It amazed Technical Editor David Kennedy so much, he asked Zach to bring his '74 K5 to the dunes to show us what he could do there, as well.
Zach, a resident of Farmington, New Mexico, built this truck for multipurpose use for his family. "Anyone can build a Jeep and go Jeepin', but not everyone can build a Blazer and do the same." Bold words, but Zach certainly proved himself and his vehicle to anyone who watched him in action that day.
