Toyota 4Runner Undercarriage
Bill managed to stuff a Vortec 350 under the hood of his Toyota using mostly factory GM parts. The A/C was even hooked back up and run on the same serpentine belt as the York air compressor. Air lines were run to both the front and rear for ease of use. A Ford Explorer fan shroud and mechanical fan keep things cool in the Northwest Off Road radiator held by a custom cut core support that has been pushed forward 1 inch on top and 2 on the bottom. To stop the big Toy, a Super Duty master cylinder pumps fluid to the 1-ton disc brakes that sit at all four corners.

Toyota 4Runner Front End
A front Chevy Dana 60 has been retubed and set on a custom leaf-spring conversion. The '60 has been packed with an ARB Air Locker and 5.38 gears, while rolling power gets churned through Moser 35-spline axleshafts. Heavy-duty shackles allow the custom leaves to flex while a Speedway Engineering antisway bar keeps the Toy from twisting too much. The arms of the antisway bar have been heated and bent by Bill in order to clear everything.

Toyota 4Runner Rear Axle
In the rear, a Dana 60 has been packed with another ARB Air Locker and chromoly axles, stopped by disc brakes. Suspending the rear is a four-link that has been reworked and helped with a custom antisway device that Bill came up with himself. From the rear crossmember, a shaft with a slip yoke has been joined to the axle to keep twist down. The slip yoke allows the axle to still move back and forth without being inhibited, and the U-joints allow the axle movement up, down, or side to side. Bill says it works surprisingly well.
