4Wheel & Off-Road Magazine Cover Trucks - Cover Model
Former editor David Freiburger used to say he wanted trucks "upside-down and on fire" for the cover. We just thought he was exaggerating. Then, in Dec. '97, he sprung 50 percent of that on us. The office joke was that he should've pushed the Samurai over the ledge before he took the shot in order to score full credit. The photo isn't particularly well lit (the Sammy is), but the cover definitely had drama at the expense of owner Kevin Hodges. Don't worry, we didn't ask Kevin to do this to his 'Zuki just for our cover. It did it on its own. View Related Article
