Here's an example of what happens when a 4x4's paint matches too closely with its surroundings. Sam Patton's Jeep is one of our favorites-big and burly-and Sam likes to use the skinny pedal heavily even if the wheels are in the air as shown here at the first BFG Rock Crawling Championship (Apr. '99). So what's not to like? Dark brown paint against dark brown rocks, that's what. Still, we used the shot because we really liked the predicament Sam and the Jeep were in.
