Needing some lower gearing for crawling around washes and boulder trails, Greg opted to split open the transfer case and install 3.92:1 Calmini gears to give him that slow crawl ratio in 4-Lo. A Calmini tranny mount was installed, and Greg fabricated a rear transfer case crossmember, though a slimmer version is in the works.

Peek under the rear of the truck and you'll find the stock axle, but internals have been changed and now accommodate 4.9:1 gearing (to match the 4.88 front) and a spooled centersection. Rear suspension is composed of some modified 2WD springs and Rancho shocks. The relatively flat springs ride and flex well on the trail.
