Are you sick of it yet? They’ve got the Oscars, the Grammys, the Emmys, the Ace Awards, the Country Music Awards, and now even the Teen’s Choice Awards. Ugh! What’s next? The Guy Who Can Pee Without Hitting the Toilet Seat award? If you’re like us, you couldn’t care less about all this. Thankfully, we’ve got our own little homage to what we feel represents the coolest, gnarliest, and just plain best from the past year of 4-Wheel & Off-Road—The Top 10.

While you won’t see teary-eyed acceptance speeches and cheesy waist-high gold-plated plastic statuettes, you will get a window into the demented minds of the 4-Wheel & Off-Road staff. What do we like the best, why, and what do we think it means with regard to the past, present, and future of off-roading? I asked the staffers, including our new fearless leader Rick “it’s pronounced Pay Way” Péwé, John “Just Jeeps” Cappa, and the little intern that could, Jerrod “Meadowlark” Jones to make a list of their top choices and record a thought or two about each. So here’s our faves from 2000.
