What type of rig do you want to go wheeling in? Some folks want an old rig that's been modified for good times off-road, but still can be driven on the streets. Others desire a pile of tubing bent together with an armload of bad-dude components. Bill Conover and Mike Vokoun both had an image of their perfect off-road vehicle, and they both visited Campbell Enterprise in Gilbert, Arizona, to help make their visions come true. They wanted vehicles for recreational use, and though Campbell Enterprises has made a name for itself in the competition rockbuggy world, the company also does trick stuff for wheelers wanting a basic desert hot rod. Bill's '50 Flatfender and Mike's four-seater Liberty buggy are both based on a newly fabricated 2x3 rectangular frame and use a GM V-8, but that is about as far as the similarities go. We got to check them both out on our last trip to the desert, and even we can't decide which one we like best.
