On the leveling shocks question, I like too keep things as low as possible to minimize the impact on other components, such as ball joints and cv joints, so I opted for the 2" kit. If your concern is fitting the tires then don't be, you can fit the large tires with no lift. Think of it this way, the leveling kit doesn't change where the bump stops are, so you're still getting the same range of motion. It's going to be what looks best to you.

Overall I'm running the worst case scenario of large tires and factory wheels. The nice thing about 04+ F150's is that they can fit up to a 35" tall tire without trimming anything. I did not trim a thing. I get rubbing on the frame and upper control arm thanks to the tires being 13" wide and having little backspacing. If you were to run an aftermarket wheel with more backspacing (pushing the wheel further out) or a narrower tire, you will have even less of an issue.

The tire you are looking at will be a perfect fit as it is just under 35” tall (34.57) and under 12” wide (11.73).

If anything you will be able to do a larger tire with an aftermarket wheel than factory. Putting a 13” wide tire on a 7.5” wide wheel (stock) is not recommended. The better backspacing of the aftermarket wheel will let you get away with more tire width and less rubbing. On these trucks you’re limited to 35” tires without a lift kit and trimming, and there are many ways to get there. You are on the right track.

how did you get those tires to fit with only the leveling shocks? Did you have to do any trimming? If you were to get custom rims, you would have to trim correct? Or use a smaller tire? I have a 2005 FX4 and am planning to put Moto 957 18's on Nitto Trail Grappler 295/70's, after having the 2.5" leveling kit installed. Your thoughts? I have been told I can put larger tires if I stay with the stock rims (just like yours). Overall, would I be better off getting the 2" leveling shocks instead of the 2.5" leveling kit? Got 80K miles on it, who knows how long the stock shocks will hold up. I am very interested in your opinion. (BTW)
