The strengthened six-speed auto is coupled to the torquey V-8, while the 3.6 V-6 can even be had with a real transmission in the form of a five-speed manual. Since it's a full-time rig, the other controls are for suspension and terrain control.

Off-road test tracks are not in abundance, so we spooked around and found some challenging dirt, rocks, and mud. There's plenty of power in this pup, but some good mud tires and better clearance would make it the cat's meow.
