Well, if you own a '07 and up Jeep Wrangler JK then you just might be in luck. There is still a week left for applicants to apply for the 2012 JK Experience. http://www.jk-experience.com/

I've attended every JK-X to date and have had an absolute blast on each. The bumper is manufactured from 3/16-inch steel plate that is precision laser cut and CNC press brake formed to create a tapered-angle design. The V-shape gives the vehicle greater approach angles, even with 37-inch diameter tires.
The new bumper comes in two styles. OR-Fab PN 83241 features a 2.5-inch diameter steel grille guard with light mount tabs. Both fit 1984-2001 model Jeep Cherokee XJ’s and attach onto the factory bumper location with minimal cutting of the stock front fenders. The slim design increases airflow to the front of the grille and the integrated winch mount is designed to fit an 8,000 lbs. remote style winch. Some 9,500 lbs. remote style winches will fit with minor modifications to the Jeep’s core support for added clearance.
Both bumper designs come in a wrinkle or gloss, heavy-duty powdercoat finish, and feature two reinforced D-ring mounts, mounting hardware, and two heavy-duty D-rings. All OR-Fab
bumpers are made in the U.S.A. For more information contact, Performance Automotive Group, P.O. Box 3450, Chino Valley, AZ 86323. Competitors from across the US and Canada will converge in Colorado to battle for top honors in sled pulling, drag racing, the dyno competition, and the show-n-shine categories. Sponsors and media should contact ATS as soon as possible to reserve spots.

Friday August 3rd features the sled pull/ truck pull at the Adams County Fairgrounds venue. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. All competitors and spectators are invited. Classes will range from stock trucks to heavily-modified dedicated pullers. 2012's sled pull will be sanctioned by NSPA (National Sled Pullers Association) and will feature NSPA's pulling sled which is one of the newest and latest-technology sleds in the country.

Saturday August 4th ATS will host a dyno competition & open house BBQ at our Arvada facility. ATS will open the doors at 8:00 a.m. with dyno runs beginning soon after. Different classes will be available to competitors who enter for a dyno session. Classes will be structured similarly to those for the sled pulls and will provide a great chance at prizes for trucks at all levels of modification. Sponsors will have spaces available to display their products, show vehicle, and hand out literature. Sponsor banners will be displayed around the facility during the dyno competition. Option 2 sponsors will have a dyno competitor class dedicated to their company.

Sunday August 5th Truck Fest transfers the excitement to Bandimere Speedway - sponsored by Merritt. Events for Sunday include drag racing, vendor midway, rock crawling, ATV racing, and show-n-shine competition starting at 8:00 a.m. Spectators will see some of the most unique and detailed vehicles in the truck genre. Many of the country's fastest trucks will be in attendance to lay down impressive quarter mile times. As with Saturday, Sunday's competition and spectator opportunities are open to everyone. Drag racing trucks should have either upward-firing exhaust stacks, or use a temporary exhaust turn-up pipe for this year's racing to prevent fogging of the timing system.

Diesels On The Mountain |

While there wasn't a ton of new and exciting unveils as far as the 4x4 world is concerned, there was plenty of cool rides and concept vehicles to look at.

One of the more unique opportunities I got to partake in was driving the New Land Rover Defender concept. Normally these are show only prototypes, so the fact that I got to put it in gear and cruise around a bit was extremely rare. Land Rover is definitely looking to get their head backing into the off road enthusiast core market, and we hope they continue on their new path.

Another cool 4x4 to note was the new Ram 1500 which is 500 pounds lighter and fitted with a load leaving air ride rear suspension.

Admittedly, I am a more of a truck guy, but enjoy playing car enthusiast from time to time. The new SRT Viper is simply bad ass and we were excited to see the snake back. Maybe we can get one of their new 640 engines and stuff it into a mud truck....Nah, we've already been down that road before!

Oh, and you can finally buy a flying car. But is sure is ugly!

2012 NYC Auto Show |

Use this bar to recenter your rear axle under the frame either with or without an aftermarket axle bracket

Iron Rock Off Road
www.ironrockoffroad.com
952-210-7185

Rear TJ Track Bar |

Well after various setback and distractions we're glad to report that the system is together and fully functional. Yes, we could have half-assed it together quicker but we wanted to make sure we had all the best parts and the best installation to show you guys.

http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/techarticles/trail/131_1110_e_z_upgrades_air_on_board/index.html

So you are asking, is this the guide to installing an on-board-air kit? Nope. It's yet another tease. Watch for the full story coming soon!

The kit includes an OB2 compressor that has a 100% duty cycle and pumps at 4.5cfm, a digital gauge, 5-gallon air tank, and wire harness. Sounds complete right? Nope. You still need a small fortune in fittings and hose. So after some conversations with a man who has built many mini trucks we figured out what was needed and set to work. The air line is from The Custom Connection and is 1/2", the compression fittings are from McMaster Carr, and the brass 90* fittings and plugs are from the plumbing isle at Home Depot.

The system will fill the tank from 0psi to 200psi in about 5-7minutes and once full will fill a 33" tire from 15psi to 35psi in under a minute. It's fast.

We still need to wire up the gauge and work out a regulator set-up to run air tools that want less PSI. This Recreational Seashore was set aside and dedicated “for the benefit and enjoyment of the American People”. With the new “rule” in place, an enormous loss of income will occur on Hatteras and Ocracoke islands as a result of closures and new restrictions. These new restrictions will have the effect of limiting commerce within the National Park Service fostered, tourism based, economies now extant within the eight villages surrounded by the Seashore. The Park Service was twice tasked with creating a rule for ORV use within the Seashore, and twice they failed. What they seek to do now is to “un-develop” the Seashore, that which Congress stated “which shall be developed for such uses (recreational) as needed” (16 USC459 sec.3) And they do so in violation of law wherein congress directs them not to conduct an activity in derogation of the mission established by congress for this area without “direct and specific” authorization from the Congress. (16 USC459 sec.1a-1) It is time to return this Seashore to the people to whom it belongs and put an end to the bureaucratic nightmare that will destroy the lives of the residents of the islands and change forever the mission given NPS by congress."

Hatteras Island: Keep The Beaches Open And Provide Free And Open Access |
