Here is where we actually liked the IFS-ground clearance is better than a comparable solid front axle. The problem is that when you are driving a truck this big you sometimes need to drive by Braille, and the aluminum front diff is just waiting for some terminal abuse. We looked into the front skidplate offered by Tuff Country, but it only replaces the stock unit and doesn't add any protection to the differential.
