Rocker Panel Protection

If you've been out on the trail without body protection it's more than likely you've wished you had some to prevent that body rash and help you nerf off of the terrain. You should plan on the big day when your body slams into that invisible rock or that tree that came out of nowhere. Pick protection that is specific to your make or model and offers a sound design. It makes perfect sense to be as opinionated as we are when it comes to rocker protection. Make sure the protection:
*Fits inside the space available and hugs the body closely
*Doesn't have any protruding bracketry or overhangs that will catch on trees, rocks, or rough terrain
*Is made of durable materials like steel plate or steel tubing, while keeping in mind your overall vehicle weight
*Ties directly onto a rigid part of your rig
*Is designed to be bolted/pop-riveted to body for added rigidity (if you are going with a wraparound plate design)
*Can be used as a functional jacking point
*Can be used to pivot you around rough terrain
Protective sliders protect your body from dings, dents, and all-out smashes. Beware of bars that are designed for show, are made of weak materials, or install away from or below the body. Note that the products featured here vary not only in application but also in levels of abuse. While most of the products take a beating and keep on ticking, by virtue of what we do, nothing can be indestructible. Protection promises not to eliminate the rash but to lessen the ouch. In many instances, depending on the product you select, it will save you from going too far.
