We started by picking up some supplies at the local hardware store and prepping the area we were going to be working in. We were doing this job super-cheap: Trash cans were used as weights to hold the plastic in place on the street, rollers and paintbrushes were bought for the application, and large rubber gloves ensured we wouldn't have blue fingers for two weeks.

The marker lights and taillights were removed for a cleaner job, and so we didn't have to tape them off. It was much faster to just remove them. It's also best to rough up the surface of the paint with a green scrubby, and make sure the truck is as clean as possible.

What we couldn't remove from the body, we taped up: windows, door handles, and the like. When you try it, we suggest also covering the tires, bumpers, and any rocker protection as well. For us, all of the aforementioned items now have a blue splatter theme.
