By Christian Lee
The T-Rex body measures 7 feet wide and almost 16 feet long with 16 inches of ground clearance. The vehicle is shown with the optional wheel-and-tire package, which consists of either Weld or Mickey Thompson wheels and Dick Cepek or Mickey Thompson tires. Other optional equipment includes a T-Rex horn (yes, it roars like the real thing), an exhaust header set, an exhaust system, a driveshaft kit, an air conditioning and heater combination, and a steering box/frame-stiffening plate.

Jurassic Truck Corporation
The Jurassic Truck Corporation manufactures the T-Rex to be used in conjunction with '73-'91 Chevy Suburban framerails. The basic kit comes preassembled and ready to bolt on to a GM chassis at a cost of $14,995. Included in the package is a manufacturer's certificate of origin, a complete assembly video, and a full set of pattern templates to ease the cutting and drilling that is required to mate the body to the frame and relocate the engine. Also included in the T-Rex basic kit is a complete interior package (seats, dashboard, and instruments), a 40-gallon fuel cell, a six-point rollcage, a steering assembly, a fiberglass nose section that is steel-reinforced for strength, exterior lighting and reflectors, a wiring harness, front and rear bumpers, shifter mechanisms, a parking-brake assembly, a throttle-assembly package, a convertible-top assembly, crossmembers, a transfer-case adapter, and other miscellaneous components necessary to complete the conversion.

The body is made from 16-gauge cold-rolled sheetmetal and is shipped assembled but unpainted. All of the hinges, latches, and other attachment hardware are made of stainless steel. According to the company, the body can be mounted to the chassis in just a few hours. The majority of time is usually spent refurbishing and upgrading your GM chassis components and preparing a suitable engine and drivetrain. Virtually any GM engine, transmission, and transfer case can be used to complete the T-Rex.

Tatonka Products offers turnkey Bummers built to the customer's specifications. The price varies in these cases since the Bummer can be built as mild or extreme as desired. The company recommends using 35- to 40-inch tires when the stock springs from the donor vehicle are used, although some aftermarket lifts are available to accommodate larger tires.

Offered in two- and four-door models, the Bummer can be purchased as a turnkey with the price dependent on how you'd like your Bummer built. The basic kit is available for $4,895 and includes the body tub, the hood, the dash, the windshield frame, and the tailgate, all in gray gelcoat. A deluxe kit is also offered, which consists of everything in the basic kit plus wiper motors, hood tie-downs, turn signals, taillights, four side reflectors, four side marker lights, two front marker lights, two strip lights, windshield glass (installed), bumpers, a center top-support bar, a radiator-mounting kit, side nerf bars, and all hinges for the hood, tailgate, and windshield. The deluxe kit is offered for $5,995. Tatonka Products also carries quite a bit of optional equipment in addition to offering the body pieces in a color gelcoat.
