An aftermarket heavy-capacity Allison-application torque converter (right) is the hot towing unit for the TH400. This 13-inch-diameter converter hydraulically couples the transmission to the engine and multiplies torque. Its 1,100-stall speed is better for light-to-medium towing and crawling than the OE's 1,500-stall (left). Note the aftermarket converter's reinforced hub area. View Related Article
