The stock mechanical fan mounts to the snout of the water pump with four bolts that will need to be reinstalled to hold the pulley in place. We took the fan off without removing the serpentine belt (we meant to, but we forgot) so you probably won’t have to either. If you do take the belt off, check to make sure the belt routing diagram sticker is still stuck in the engine compartment somewhere. Trying to figure out the proper belt routing without it can be infuriating. View Related Article
