Jeep Winch New And Old Motor
Two bolts on the end of the motor are removed and the motor comes right off the winch. The difference between the two is striking: pretty paint, longer, and a splined shaft instead of a keyway set off the new one. A new clutch gear to match the splines and longer bolts are also included in the kit for a true bolt-on installation.
Jeep Winch Motor Housing
With the new motor in place, the longer bolts are tightened up, and then the new clutch gear and old fork are installed. Use some silicone sealer around the clutch cover to seal the innards of the winch against the elements. Tighten up the hose clamps to retain the solenoid pack against the motor housing.
Jeep Winch New Motor
Simply place the old wires back on the new motor where they belong (you did mark them, right?) and snug them up. Notice that the new motor has metric nuts on the electrical posts, so fish that 13mm wrench out of the box instead of jamming a SAE wrench or pliers around these important posts. That's it, a hopped up winch in less than 15 minutes!
