Clean diesel may still be months away, but Jeep demonstrated the technology's potential by unveiling the Bluetec Grand Cherokee concept at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Bluetec is the name DaimlerChrysler is giving to a number of diesel-related technologies, including new-generation, clean-burning engines (like the Euro-spec 3.0L common-rail diesel in the concept SUV); a diesel particulate filter; and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system for reducing nitrogen-oxide emissions.
