OK, you must have known it was coming. The new millennium is here so, of course, we had to do a story about building trends for the next millennium (it works best if you say it in a deep, loud voice and with an echo).

Remember those science-fiction magazines that you read as a kid that said in the year 2000 we will all be living under the sea and commuting to work in nuclear-powered personal submarines? Hopefully we won't make any predictions or observations that crazy, although some of you will probably be wondering if we have been out in the sun too long.

By now you probably know that we get out on the trails a lot. I am sure you have read Cole's editorials where he moans about being in seven states in 10 days and so on. Well, believe it or not, it's actually true. Hopping on planes and visiting just about every state across this big, crazy country of ours is all part of our routine. Sometimes we spend so much time in the air and in foreign lands that we wonder why we pay rent.

One of the benefits of all this travel, besides being able to provide you with lots of cool photos and stories, is that we get to look at a lot of different vehicles and setups. Besides the weird and wacky (ever seen a Mazuki?), it is easy to see that there are trends emerging amongst those setting up their rigs for trail use. Check out the sidebars below to review the trends we’ve seen (and some things we can’t stand) on our many sojourns to events over the last year.
