Big Power or Low Gears?

Blasting down fire roads and highway driving requires big power to get you going. Too high a gear ratio and you lug the engine, and too low a ratio will over-rev the engine at high speeds. Plan ahead for what you intend to do with your rig, as swapping gears isn’t cheap.
