As any seasoned off-road vet knows, the jack that came with your 4x4 is on the negative side of worthless on the trail. That is, unless you stick to flat or paved trails! But most of us venture off the beaten path into dirt, rocks, sand, mud, and other terrain. A better jack is needed. Yes, it reminds you of a camper jack. It is similar but about a thousand times better quality. It's also small, at a yard high, but with an 18.1-inch stroke. It only weighs 13 pounds due to the lightweight construction. The jack is also rated at 2,200 pounds (a full metric ton), more than enough for a corner of most rigs.

For dedicated applications, this is ideal because you can set and forget, but if you need to jack at many levels, be sure to carry a wrench and tighten securely. |  The all-billet construction... The only odd feature is that the jack actuates on the upstroke of the handle instead of the more natural downstroke, where body weight could be used instead of sheer muscle. |  The fluid release lever is...
