There comes a time in every wheeler's life when he must make that all-important plunge into winch ownership. But how do you know which winch is for you? There are so many brands and models available with all sorts of options and widgets that it gets confusing very fast. Life is about to get a little simpler. We have compiled one of the greatest winch buyer's guides known to man. By using this guide you will be able to quickly compare stats on some of the top brands and models today. A quick note before you set off to compare winches. This guide is meant to be only that, a guide, not the end-all, be-all of winch information. Some brands are missing data that others have. Why? It simply wasn't available at press time. Due to fluctuating prices we have also chosen to leave prices off; you will have to look them up on your own. And lastly, choose wisely. A winch's quality is not always evident by its stats. This is not an area you want to go cheap on.
