The Fortera conforms well to the terrain, even at full street pressure. Trail riding, rockcrawling, and sand are handled well by this Goodyear. The mud performance is a bit poor, but on-road wet traction is excellent due to the tread pattern and multiple sipings.

We went to Just Tires for mounting and balancing, and found that the tires only needed a couple ounces each for running true. Manager Jon Hromjak noted that he sells quite a few Forteras and has never received any complaints.

Top alignment tech Benito talked the ins and outs of the IFS Kia. We push this rig mercilessly through urban potholes and curbs, while also running the freeway many miles a day. Keeping the alignment right on and tire pressure to spec gives the longest tire wear and fuel economy. After two years the tread wear is negligible and the alignment has stayed true as well.

Silent Armor Technology uses a noise-reduction cushioning layer in between the Kevlar layer and the tread. The sidewalls also have the Durawall compound like the famous MT/R mud tire for increased sidewall puncture resistance and durability. The pavement and fire-road noise difference is much quieter than the stock tires.
