A day of all-terrain tire testing was a good way to confirm our appreciation for the off-highway performance for all three brands. Each vehicle was fitted with 265/75R16 tires, and the tires all had a tread width within 0.5 inch of one another. This means that the tires' contact patch (the rubber touching the ground) was close to equal. Whether or not tires with larger tread widths provide better traction than those with smaller widths, we can't say; they all performed about the same. View Related Article
