A good tail gunner is crucial when you have a group as big as ours. Inevitably somebody runs out of gas, spots a sign for free puppies, or has mechanical failure, and someone else needs to be there to help get him back in line and on his way. Clifton Slay is the king of tail gunners and one of the best rig wranglers in the business. The phrase “like herding cats” is often used, and sometimes he has to be the one to help round up the strays!
