If the glow-green Zone Comanche doesn’t grab your attention, then we’re not sure what will. The Zone crew, Dave DeVormer and Carter Reed, was just as outgoing as the truck they drove. This modern rendition of a long-ago Jeep was one of the most unusual rigs on the adventure. Like most good suspension companies, Zone used this wheeling outing as a testbed for some of its new products. Though they did break a few axleshafts at the start of the trip, Dave and Carter quickly had the Jeep put back together and went on to push their multilink MJ through some of the toughest trails the Midwest had to offer.

• Steering: High steer with Reid knuckles
