My truck made an overnight stay in the pond. After two hours of pulling with an 8,000-pound winch, five log chains, two stretch ropes, and a dualie 8600 Ford tractor, it finally gave up and came out.

Dear 4-Wheel & Off-Road,
I was cruising the creek bed when I got to the end and had to turn around. Unfortunately, I had slipped my back wheel into a mud pit, and my right tire was jammed under a tree root. It took a chainsaw, a Jeep Comanche, and a Case 550 turbodiesel to get me out.

Dear 4-Wheel & Off-Road,
While down in Yuma, Arizona, we did some backcountry exploring. I was backing down the hill and never saw the mine shaft. It took my winch, a friend's winch, and a 111/42-ton hand hoist to get us out.
