January 2001 Whoops!

Whoops!

By Jerrod Jones

Dear 4-Wheel & Off-Road,
My friends and I were out four-wheelin' when we got hot in the Minnesota heat and decided to go swimming. We forgot to leave the Bronco on shore. After we drained every fluid, it's still runnin' and wheelin'. The rig left the house as a '78 Bronco with 6 inches of lift, but came back a little wetter and with the new nickname: Depth Finder.

Dear 4-Wheel & Off-Road,
A friend of mine took his two trucks, a '76 Ford and an '85 Chevy, to Clark's Hill Lake one night to play and buried them both. He called me to come and pull him out, and I sank my '91 F-150 despite 7 inches of lift. At the high point of the night, there were a total of six stuck trucks. We had to get a skidder to get these out, but we buried it too. We used a bulldozer to get the skidder out. The two Fords were able to drive home with minor water damage, but the Chevy's motor gave out and took a ride home with the skidder behind a Peterbilt.

Dear 4-Wheel & Off-Road,
Here's my '98 Ranger 4x4 Off Road. Due to the local creek washout, I drove the beast off the 30-foot cliff in the background. It took a Chevy and a Land Cruiser to tow it out. So here it is, totaled, after I owned it for three months.
