Back Off!
Our strikers weigh more than 20 tons and move at over 60 mph. They have eight wheels and great suspensions. We were on patrol just outside Faluhja, Iraq. It had been raining and we were going down a narrow dirt road when the side gave out and the truck slid into the ditch. We tried self-recovery and assisted-recovery with the other strikers, but no success. It ended up taking an M-88 recovery vehicle to drag it out

LAV Stands for What?!
This is a Canadian LAV (Light Armoured Vehicle) 8x8 Coyote armoured reconnaissance vehicle. This is what happens when you take an 18-ton vehicle across a bridge barely wide enough for a fullsized truck, let alone strong enough. Needless to say, the bridge broke and sent the vehicle into this ditch. Two hours later--two winches (mine and the one on my buddy's Coyote) and patience to keep the locals away from the scene--we were out. Who says eight wheels are better than four?

Holy Ouch!
I just returned from Iraq last month with a broken neck which resulted from going off a cliff that was a little too steep. So I thought I would send you pics.
