Just Another Day... I have... Just Another Day... I have attached some pictures of a hole my truck fell in. I am sure everyone gets stuck from time to time and their buddies usually do their best to get them out. But sometimes you have to call in the tow truck. The tow truck snapped one of his two cables trying to get me out. T.R. Pate, Buhl, Alabama The Things You Miss On the... The Things You Miss On the Slope I work at a ski resort and when this stuck happened I thought of the pics in your magazine. One of the trainee groomer operators was a little too cocky for his own good. I told him to remember one thing: speed kills, slow thrills. No bodily injuries, but his ego was sure hurting. A Petersen's fan, via 4wheeloffroad.com Not That Route Either Here... Not That Route Either Here are some pics of getting my truck stuck for the first time in Sargent, Texas. It took three four-wheel drives with two winches to get it out! It's hard to tell just how stuck it is until you realize that this truck is lifted. Dale Skotnik, via 4wheeloffroad.com No Where To Go But Down This... No Where To Go But Down This bridge was 102 years old and on a dirt road used only by local hunters and four-wheelers. It's amazing the driver even made it to the bridge. When he saw the posted 3-ton limit sign, he should've stopped, but obviously he didn't. Bruce Allen, Mt. Pleasant, IA Burying Water This is my... Burying Water This is my '85 Mack R688 water truck. The pic was taken north of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, and yes those are 36x48R20 floater tires on the back of it. It took a D8 to pull me out of that one. Just another day at the office! Luke Dufresne, Ft. McMurray, AB, Canada Lost In the Sand of Time ... Lost In the Sand of Time Mom got a little carried away when she was trying to haul off seashells. I guess that minivan didn't have as much umph as she thought. The next morning we gave it a look but no such luck. It would have taken a bulldozer and a crane to fix this one. We suppose it's still there. Daniel Alexander, South Padre Island, TX Hole finder Going down the... Hole finder Going down the trail, we came to this nasty sinkhole. The four other trucks I was with managed to negotiate their way around it, and then came my turn. Being the last truck to go, the only way through was forward. Four hours, one wrecked front bumper, one snapped winch line, another winch line wrecked from fraying, a lot of digging, and a bunch of frustration finally got me out. We still made it back in time for the BBQ as this was Day 3 of the Calgary Nissan and Import 4x4 Jamboree. Need bigger tires! Elias Panasuik, Calgary, AB, Canada B-Day Treat This is my '04... B-Day Treat This is my '04 GMC 2500HD Duramax Diesel SLT that I flipped and totaled on my birthday! Pretty much my best birthday ever (sarcasm). I was driving down a paved road late at night when all of a sudden the road changed to dirt and cut a sharp left. As soon I hit the dirt, the truck slid off the road, hit a bank just high enough to catch the undercarriage of the truck, then flipped it. There were six people in it but luckily everyone was OK. Houston Crump, University of Alabama Help Please! Hello, I am... Help Please! Hello, I am Sofia B. I live in Sarcedo, in the north of Italy. Me and Enrico (my brother) have found an old issue of 4-Wheel & Off-Road (Oct. '89). Very beautiful! My parents bought it during their honeymoon in an Arizona shop. Sometimes we drive Dad's Samurai in the fields near our home. We are very fond of off-roading. Look what happened to some friends of ours. Sophia B., Sarcedo, Italy
