Ford Ranger Boat and More!

By Tori Tellem

Dear 4-Wheel & Off-Road,
My friends and I frequently go four-wheeling on weekends. I usually don't have a problem outdoing them in mud considering my '97 Dodge Ram has a 4-inch suspension lift and 33-inch Bridgestone Mudders. However, this was my first time through this mud and water hole, and, as you can see, I didn't make it.

Dear 4-Wheel & Off-Road,
I was 'wheeling with the Notch Peak Desert Dogs 4x4 club in Moab when I took a bad line over an obstacle in Pritchett Canyon. My sons, Jake and Mike, were with me in the truck, but fortunately no one was hurt. We rolled the Ford back over, duct-taped a piece of plastic for a windshield, and drove it home.

Dear 4-Wheel & Off-Road,
July 4, 1998, 8:15 p.m., high tide at the Oceano Dunes creek crossing: My '95 Ford Ranger has 33-inch mud tires, so it didn't seem like it would be a problem, but the tide came in and filled the cab until my truck became a boat that didn't float. It took a couple of days to drain the engine and a week to air out the cab.
